Chasing the Fox – Raising the Bar for Homegrown Golf Events
Share
Last Friday, we were lucky enough to be on site at Chasing the Fox, and once again it delivered as one of the most exciting and uniquely Kiwi golf events on the calendar.
What started as a bold idea has quickly grown into something genuinely special. Year after year, Nick and the Chasing the Fox team continue to raise the bar, and this edition felt like a real step up across the board. From the atmosphere and crowd engagement to the pace of play and overall production, it’s clear how much work goes into evolving the event each year.
Chasing the Fox flips the traditional golf format on its head. Fast-paced, six-hole Ambrose golf, fans right alongside the action, music, energy, and a buzz you don’t often associate with the game. It’s approachable, entertaining, and inclusive, while still showcasing some seriously good golf. Exactly the kind of innovation the sport needs.
We were there proudly supporting friend of Highcut, Eric Murray, who had Leave Pass Golf’s Mike Legg on the bag. It was awesome to see familiar faces out there competing, enjoying the moment, and being part of an event that feels as much about community as it is about competition.
What really stands out with Chasing the Fox is how it champions a modern vision for golf, one that welcomes new audiences, celebrates personalities, and creates an experience rather than just a tournament. You can feel the momentum building, and it’s exciting to watch an event grow organically while staying true to its roots.
Big credit to everyone involved behind the scenes. Events like this don’t happen without passion, commitment, and a willingness to back something different, and it shows.
We’re already looking forward to seeing what next year brings. If this year is anything to go by, the best is still to come.
