Designing from Afar: How Our Kiwi Vision Now Spans to Ireland

At HighCut, we’ve always done things a little differently, proudly rooted in New Zealand, built from the ground up, and guided by the belief that golf gear should feel personal, not mass-produced.

That belief hasn’t changed. But lately, the view from our design desk has.

Our lead designer has recently shifted to Ireland, and while that might sound like a big move (because it is, about 18,000km to be exact), it hasn’t changed the heart of what we do. In fact, it’s added a new layer to the HighCut story.

We’re still a Kiwi brand. Our roots are here. Our gear is made with NZ golfers in mind. But now, our design process includes a different kind of inspiration, misty links courses, raw weather, centuries-old clubhouses, and a culture where golf is stitched into the landscape just as much as it is here.

We work across time zones now, bouncing ideas between early mornings in Hamilton and late nights in Dublin. Samples are still tested here on NZ turf, and every new concept gets run through the filter of: “Does this work for real golfers? In real conditions? At home?”

So what does this mean for you?

It means the same sharp designs. The same attention to detail. The same commitment to quality. But with a touch of Irish grit mixed in.

Distance doesn’t weaken direction, it sharpens it. And we’re more focused than ever on lifting the standard of New Zealand golf gear.
