HighCut Cup 2026 – Horsham Downs Delivers
Share
Saturday at Horsham Downs was everything the HighCut Cup is about, community, competition, and a proper test of golf.
What started as a pretty last-minute decision to jump in and be part of it turned into a packed field and an unreal day from start to finish. Credit to everyone who got in behind it quickly. That’s the beauty of grassroots golf, when people back it, it moves fast.
A Tough Format… But Proper Golf Was Played
The format wasn’t a walk in the park. It demanded discipline, good strategy, and the ability to grind when things got tight. And grind they did.
• Best Gross: 11 under-including a three-putt on the last.
That tells you how well they played it. There was still one left out there.
• Best Nett: 56.33 - and that included a two-stroke penalty.
No hiding from that. That’s serious scoring under pressure.
Plenty of birdies out there, a few nervy moments late in rounds, and the kind of energy you only get when a full field is chasing something meaningful.
Course Setup – Top Shelf
Massive thanks to the team at Horsham Downs Golf Club.
• Ants for pulling the competition together at short notice and making it run smoothly.
• Luke for having the course dialled in.
The greens were top notch. Pure roll, consistent pace, and exactly what you want for an event like this. When the surfaces are that good, there’s nowhere to hide, you either roll it or you don’t.
Hole Sponsors – Backing Grassroots Golf
Big appreciation to our hole sponsors who backed the day and helped make it what it was:
• Mantis Golf
• Eagles Nest
• Foundation Bar
• Classic Builders
• Vertical Horizon
• Selwyn Design
• North End Law
• Sam Machinery
Events like this don’t happen without local businesses getting in behind them. That’s how we continue growing the grassroots game properly.
What the HighCut Cup Is Really About
For us at HighCut, days like this are bigger than just scores.
It’s:
• A full tee sheet.
• Local businesses supporting local golf.
• Good players being pushed in a tough format.
• Mates battling it out.
• Proper competition on quality greens.
Considering how quickly this came together, it worked extremely well. That says a lot about the people involved.
We’re proud to be part of it, and even more excited about building it bigger in 2027.
Appreciate everyone who played, supported, sponsored, and helped make it happen.
Grassroots golf done right.
