One Year On: From Our First Polo to a Growing Kiwi Golf Brand
Share
One year ago, we sold our very first HighCut polo.
It wasn’t a big launch party, there were no champagne corks flying, and we didn’t have a glossy marketing plan rolled out. It was just one shirt, one golfer, and one moment we’ll never forget. That first sale lit a spark, the feeling that maybe, just maybe, this little idea could turn into something bigger.
Back then, HighCut was nothing more than a couple of designs, a handful of samples, and a belief that Kiwi golfers deserved better. Gear that fits. Gear that lasts. Gear that actually speaks to the people playing the game here, not somewhere overseas.
Fast forward to today and that single sale has grown into something we’re proud to stand behind.
• HighCut polos now hang in pro shops from Whanganui to Pupuke.
• We’ve worked with clubs to design shirts that mean something to their members.
• We’ve welcomed athletes and ambassadors into the HighCut family who carry our gear onto courses all over the country (and sometimes across the world).
• We’ve learned, adapted, and improved, from getting designs just right to packing orders late at night.
It hasn’t all been smooth fairways. We’ve had delays, mistakes, and a fair few moments of “what the hell are we doing?” But every message from a happy customer, every sighting of a HighCut shirt out on the course, and every bit of support from the golf community has kept us going.
Because here’s the thing, we can only do this with Kiwi golfers behind us.
So, to everyone who’s bought a polo, stocked our gear, tagged us in a post, or simply told a mate about HighCut: thank you. You’ve helped us turn an idea into a brand that’s here to stay.
Year one was just the warm-up. Year two? We’re aiming for the green.
