The 4th Annual JAWS Memorial – A Day to Remember Jared

Last Friday we were lucky enough to be part of the JAWS Memorial, the JAWS is more than just a golf day, it’s a chance to celebrate the life of our beloved father, son, and mate Jared Williams, who left us far too soon after a courageous battle with cancer. Each year, friends and family gather to honour Jared in the best way possible: a day full of laughs, competition, and camaraderie on the course.

This year marked the 4th annual JAWS Memorial, hosted at Waihi Golf Club, with seven teams teeing it up in a tight Ambrose contest. The scores couldn’t have been closer, only four shots separated first from last, setting the stage for one of the most dramatic finishes yet.

Two teams finished tied at -3, forcing a playoff down the iconic 18th. After the pink team heartbreakingly missed a one-footer to seal the win, a chip-off decided it all. In true JAWS fashion, the purple team held their nerve under pressure and claimed the 2025 title, though not without a little controversy and plenty of laughs.

Highcut is incredibly proud to support such a meaningful event, one built on mateship, memories, and a shared love of the game. Huge thanks to all the sponsors, organisers, and players who make the JAWS Memorial possible each year, you’ve helped turn a day of remembrance into something truly special.

Here’s to Jared, gone too soon, never forgotten. 💚❤️
