The Paul Irwin Cunningham Memorial, A Day Well Spent

This year I had the privilege of playing in the Annual Paul Irwin Cunningham Memorial Tournament at New Plymouth Golf Course, and what a day it was.

The tournament brings together the people who knew Paul best: friends, family, clients, and colleagues who continue to honour the impact he had on so many. You could feel that spirit everywhere you looked, laughs on the tee, old stories shared on fairways, and a real sense of connection that carried through the whole event.

The day is proudly run in support of Hospice Taranaki, with every dollar raised helping families across the region. It’s a relaxed Ambrose format, the kind of golf that’s more about community than scorecards. Spot prizes, a hole-in-one challenge, and a strong line-up of local teams kept the energy high from start to finish.

Vertical Horizonz New Zealand entered a team this year and were kind enough to bring High Cut along for the ride. It was an awesome chance to support a meaningful cause, meet some great people, and be part of an event that clearly means a lot to the Taranaki community.

Couldn’t have asked for a better day out, good golf, good people, and a great reminder of why events like these matter.
