Two Years of HighCut, Foundations Laid, The Next Chapter Ahead

Two years ago, the idea for HighCut Golf NZ was born during a week that has become pretty special to us, the New Zealand Open. Dan and I were volunteering at the tournament when the conversation first started. Like most golfers, we were talking about the game, the people around it, and what makes golf in New Zealand so unique.


Somewhere in those conversations the idea came up: what if there was a brand that truly represented New Zealand golf?


Not something imported or built offshore with no connection to our courses or community, but something created here, inspired by the people who actually play the game across Aotearoa.


At that stage it was just an idea. No shirts. No logos on fairways. No Team HC. Just a belief that there was space for a grassroots-driven golf brand built in New Zealand, for New Zealand golfers.


Two years later, a lot has changed.


The foundations are now in place.


HighCut has grown from that original idea into a brand that is slowly becoming part of the New Zealand golf landscape. We’ve released multiple designs, partnered with clubs, supported tournaments, and built a team of players representing HighCut around the country.


We’ve seen our gear worn in club competitions, charity days, national events and even professional tournaments. Seeing a HighCut polo on the course, whether it’s at a local club or on a big stage, never really gets old.


But the biggest part of this journey hasn’t been the products.


It’s been the people.


The golfers who believed in the brand early on. The clubs that have welcomed us in. The ambassadors and players chasing their goals while proudly wearing HighCut. The friends, supporters and members of the golf community who have helped spread the word.


HighCut has always been about more than apparel. It’s about community, connection and celebrating the unique culture of golf here in New Zealand.


And while we’re proud of what’s been built over the past two years, the reality is this:


This is still just the beginning.


For HighCut to keep growing, we need the support of the community that inspired it in the first place.

Two years in, the foundations are laid.


Now the next chapter begins.
